Professional Experience
I spent seven years as a word processor and technical editor at Lockheed Martin contracted to CH2M Hill. I formatted and edited hundreds of documents, forms, templates, graphics, and presentations for customers ranging from the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of Defense to major contractors working on environmental cleanup at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in southeastern Washington State. I maintained website contents and was responsible for providing configuration control for sensitive and mission-critical documents.
I received many personal letters of appreciation and Certificates of Appreciation or Excellence for participation in projects on the Hanford Site, and in 2005 I was awarded Lockheed Martin Information Technology’s Award for Technical Excellence.
Since leaving Lockheed to raise my family, I have done occasional work as opportunities have appeared. I’ve provided editorial feedback to three self-published authors and formatted five novels for publication on Smashwords.com, Createspace.com, and Amazon Direct. I have created and revised many forms and fliers for the Parent-Teacher Association at my children’s elementary school, and I am the curator of the PTA’s Facebook and Web pages.
